Every night when we put the kids to bed we have to say TWO prayers - so that each child gets a turn to say it. I am waiting for this little phase to wear off, but really enjoying it in the meantime. Cole can say two lines - "Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day..." then he pauses and waits for help. Bella, being the older sister, always tries to prompt him with what to say next, but Cole won't have it. "NO Bella!" So Mac or I help him and he is happy to listen to one of us... Then Bella says her prayer and we tuck them in for the night.
Well the other night, Bella was in the middle of her prayer and Cole decided that HE was going to help HER.
Cole says: "Cole, Coley, Cole....Cole." (Making sure of course that he wasn't forgotten in her prayer.)
Bella just keeps on going with what she was saying...
Cole: "SAY IT BELLA!"
And we all wound up in giggles...Somehow we managed to pull it together and finish our little night routine, but it kept me smiling until I fell asleep...

Linked over to you from a friend of a friend...I thought that I might know you, but I was wrong. Anyway, your photographs are beautiful. You are gorgeous.
This story made me laugh. It sounds like my house. We have several prayers each night (and meal, etc.) too. I guess that's an okay problem to have!
Family prayer. So fun.
I was the oldest of 8 children, let me tell you, there were a ton of bickering, tattle taleing, gnashing of teeth prayers when I was young. So opposite of what the prayer is really supposed to be about. This was our routine for family home evening and scripture study. I don't know how my parents survived. It's good to still be in the giggle stage. Hopefully your family prayers never come to blows.
This story is too cute! I can't wait until Mason can talk!
How sweet is this! And always a wonderful time to remember! What great examples you and Mackay are for your children...you certainly are for me! love you!
He's so ridiculous....I mean honestly? I'm so sorry you're so deathly ill. I can't believe it! Where did this come from? You need somthing..but what can I do for you? Let me know asap!
xoxo.

You don't know me, but I am friends with Brittany Anderson, and I was ust checking out other people's blogs and came across yours. I just wanted to tell you that the family prayer was hilarious! It had me laughing out loud. I too have a girl and a boy, my daughter being the oldest and I an completely relate to your story. I love the honesty kids bring to a home...makes me so grateful on being a mom!
